Luciano Zazzeri is renown for his 1 star Michelin restaurant La Pineta by the Etruscan coast in Tuscany.
But he has another little gem in collaboration with the Ginori Lisci family in Querceto, Tuscany that is just as worth a visit as his other restaurant.
The location is magical. When you enter the village, followed by an even more magical drive, you find yourself in front of a Castle. Almost medieval. Depending on the weather the scenario changes drastically and the experience is memorable.
Make sure to book your table before hand as the inside only has 4 tables and when temperatures are warmer they do have a few more on the varanda.
Service is close to impecable, wine canteen gives you a selection of a privately produced ones from the family and menu makes no exception to the region so wild and gamey flavors from the hunting area are in store.
Plating is done with care to complement the service and experience. Which sometimes can seem a tad formal but the light and friendliness of staff brings back to a relaxed time.
Menu follows the season.
Winner of the table was the risotto with a perfect blend of taste from the wild pigeon and its butter creaminess.
Sweet tooth people be ready for a simply yet brilliant selection of deserts. Difficult to choose just one.
